About

Kai Dunn (they/them)

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado. I integrate numerous therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and narrative therapy, to honor your wholeness- mind, body, spirit, and social context. In sessions, I am warm and compassionate and come with a genuine desire to know you and support you wherever you are on your healing journey; you are the expert on your life and experiences, and our work together is collaborative. My work is grounded in systems theory (situating our personal experiences and stories within larger familial, social, and cultural contexts and stories) and queer theory (rooted in challenging normative assumptions and unhinging binaries).

I have experience working with teens and adults in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, schools, and integrated care. I work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, intersectional and anti-oppression lens to support you in connecting safely with your body and emotions, getting out of disempowering patterns, stepping more fully into your authenticity, and moving into greater alignment with your values. I am committed to continuing education, professional development, and growth. I am currently working towards sex therapy certification and completed a certification in consensual non-monogamy through Sexual Health Alliance.

I am queer and trans/non-binary, and in addition to being a therapist, I am a parent, avid reader, cat mom, and lifelong learner. I'm glad you are here!
